Here's an 82 I had a while back. This has been my favorite boat of all. The colors are a sand base and a rust metalflake stripe. This boat had the top deck the same texture as the upholstry.
I currently have a red / grey 85 model as a project boat.

Like all projects, it has a beginning and an end... I'm restoring it back to like-new condition. It gets sanded and painted sometime in the near future, probably after summer this year. I am hoping the slight fading isn't too deep that a light sanding can't restore the shine but I'm preparing for the worst. I buy these things, use them a while then turn them. Usually I am happy to break even but I enjoy working on them. I started in 1979 with a new one and have been hooked ever since on the 79 - 85 models. That is before anyone knew of a Pro ... They were the 19 Skier models. I often get a chuckle at the sometime references proclaiming a S&S as a 190 Pro etc....
The 85 is getting new interior as we speak. I am waiting on carpet, already have new skins, and will convert the distributor as soon as the carpeting is done. Also have new dash instruments waiting to be installed. I'll leave that for another time later this year.
Looking for a new windshield for this 85. This one is OK but I'd like to find a new one.... Suggestions???
I like the 93 SS 25th SE for obvious reasons.Last edited by waterlogged882; 04-08-2005, 09:34 PM.

That's great! I feel the same about the S&S models. I own an '83 that I've had since '84. Now I'm looking at another '83 in the area that needs a lot of help. I just need to convince the owner that he should sell it for a little less. How much do you typically pay for your "projects"? I tend to look for the mid '83 (Metalflake) through '85 because of the glass stringers and the "in mold" graphics.
I've heard that this site might be able to help with a windshield:
marineglassspecialties.com Good luck.

As for in mold graphics? You lost me there. All I have seen is decal graphics in that year range.
Thanks for the link but they have only a substitute replacement program, although not out of the question, but I'd like to find an original ("new") one for replacement.
Thanks again for the reply with the information.

Could you use original frames for the windshield or are you looking for glass/plastic as well?
