  • Need advice! Mc vs. wet sounds vs. Skylon

    Hello,
I have a x star and have 2 jl audio w can speakers, I am looking to better my system this year. I am stuck between the wet sounds r-10, or buy a buddies 6 skylon speakers for $1000, or just buy 2 more jl audio's w can to have a total of 4 speakers. I know the new wet sounds are cheaper and louder but I am wanting to have at least four speakers across the tower this summer but I am trying not to drop a lot of money to get this done. Please let me know your opinion on this tough decision of what you think would be the better and more economical option for me to take. I have only heard the jl's never heard the skylons or the wet sounds.

    Thanks, boarder1221

I just replaced my JL cans with a pair of REV10's w/ swivel mounts for my X-80. The REV10 sound does not compare, its great. I picked them up for a good deal from a contact I have the sells wetsounds in AZ.
    Thanks,
    Darrell

They have several options that will get you set up to where you will own the lake. Their customer service is the best period.

Anyone have any more info on the new Wet Sounds Rev 410s - the supposed replacement of the 485s?

There isn't much info on them. Everyone expects them to launch sometime in the next couple of months

The Wet Sounds are horns you can't compare them REV-10s are the loudest tower speaker on the water no question about it as long as you put enough power to them with a real amp PM me Im a wetsounds dealer in North Carolina if you need help in the right direction

Hey man check out the "Bazooka Tubbies 8" speakers with horns" Just bought four for under $1,000. Sounds like a concert on the water! With a good solid four channel amp pushing around 75-100 watts RMS you should be in business!

I got Wetsounds last year and have been extremely pleased. David with Earmark Marine (I think) frequents our forum and gives great advice on speakers.
Being on the water is best, but when I'm not on the water I'm on TT.

I'm in the same boat.....I've got a 2008 x45 and need to decide whether to add 2 more tower speakers or switch over to 2 pair of wet sounds rev10. Is this an easy plug in deal after I take off the cans I have??

It's a pretty easy install. I helped a friend install wetsounds to his factory tower mounts. You have to take the face of the rev10 off to get the speakers bolted on the tower, but the tower should be prewired for 4 speakers. Just make sure you order the ones with the mounts for the mastercraft towers.

I decided not to go with the skylon, leaning towardss the wetsounds rev 10's only heard nothing but good things about them.

I got rev10s over the winter, and I'm very happy with them. They sound a lot better than the pro80s.

Rev10's for sure, and you'll only need 2. When I did mine I went with Bullets because I preferred them over the Pro80's, but if I were doing it now I'd go with the Rev10's, which a friend has and they sound great.
