  • Boat lift

If your boat does not touch the dock, use of whips or other methods, is there really a need for a boat lift. I pull boat out every three weeks, about to pull the trigger on a hydrolic lift, but still having a hard time convincing myself it's worth the money. Boat is a 13 x25

    Thanks for any feedback.

It's better for the boat to be stored out of the water. Not only dock rash but to keep the gear out and growth off the boat. If you leave it in for long periods you can get blisters in the gel as well.

If it were me I would get aloft for sure!

My thought was it is a small price vs. the investment of a MC to make sure it is 100% protected when I am not there.

Buy a used lift today and sell it in 10 years for the same price. This is how it works. So the cost is 0 by the time it's all done.

Osmotic blistering of the gel coat isn't covered by any warranty.

How'd you convince yourself to buy a 100k+ boat? Small price to not trash your boat imo

I'm not sure where you are in the Northeast. We just had a massive storm roll through tonight that would've kept me up at night wondering how my boat fared (if it was on a mooring). I like knowing it is several feet out of the water when this fall weather starts to blow through.

My '97 sat in the water (clean lake) for 9 summers before I got a lift. Luckily no blistering, but the upholstery took a beating. Always getting caught in the rain, covering it still damp, etc.

Now with a lift and a canopy I feel like I have stopped the age-ing process. I can have it dry in a matter of seconds if it starts to rain, it never bangs up against the dock in a storm, and the waterline wipes off with ease.

                  Go for it....

Buy a lift! You will be mad at yourself for not purchasing one sooner!

Thanks, everyone, actually bought a used sunstream sun lift, pick it up this weekend, just in time to remove it from the lake from the previous owner, and put it in dry storage until next may on my end. Wakeboard season is official over for my family next weekend

That is a GREAT lift! You will love. What options did it come with? Cover, solar charger?

came with a set of deep water legs, solar charger, and trickle charger. Funny looked for two years for a 6,000 lb sunlift and could not find one, bought mine, and another one comes up within days. Lucky for me I paid the lower of the two asking prices.
