  • 2013 X30 Altitude change of Home?

    We are close to buying a Used 2013 X30-
    it was sold new and and used at 2000' Elevation.
    Engine is the 6.2 Ilmore.
    I am assuming the Local MasterCraft dealer set Boat up for 2000' use?
    I will use at Sea Level in the SouthWest , rivers ,Lakes
    Some trips to Lake Powell...

    Can I use this Prop?
    Do I need a "Sea Level" prop?

    Is changing the Prop, a typical Task, for Trailing to diff Altitudes for vacation?

    The Engine should not be a problem at diff Altitudes correct?

    FYI, we will use the Boat for Cruising, Surfing, and Tubing. We have wake boards too, but that is not a priority with regards to boat performance....

    Any links or tips greatly appreciated ..

    If the boat is equipped with a high alt prop it will still work great at sea level and you will never have any trouble getting on plane with a ton of weight. You will lose a bit off the top end but you will still be able to hit around 40mph. Personally is keep the prop.
    2013 X-30, 6.0L with 2500lbs of ballast and 500 lbs of lead.

      The Boat actually looks a bit like yours, Black Hull Red accents.
      Its a used 2013 so we are just taking what we get, but owner ordered decent Package.

      Pro-package
      heater (nice, SD coast is colder than you would think)
      Surf Tabs
      Hydro Steering
      Cover
      Bow Filler
      Tower Speakers
      Flip Rear Seat...

      It has the BTS windshield ....We don't really like...but...not a deal breaker..

      I am having the Dealer install the Engine Flush Kit, as we used occasionally in Salt Water...

      If I learn to post pic, I will...

          That is a beauty! You will love it. And it's fully loaded so nothing more to really want. Enjoy the surf wave it's just excellent!

            Been search your and Vs post on surf set up.... Hoping save some headaches...
            Looks like the boat is a very capable Surf machine ....
            Wife loves lines more than the 25 we almost bought....I like both

                  That thing is sharp. Nice


                  The only issue would be the high altitude prop. If you don't plan on running anything over the factory ballast I would swap that out to a more user friendly all around prop because if you plan to cruise a lot at speeds above 26-28 mph or ski it will suck your fuel like crazy. However if you just plan on boarding and/or surfing with extra weight keeping that high altitude prop would be ideal.

                    Wasn't sure if 2,000 feet was considered Hi Altitude or not...
                    Is it a big deal to swap props for different trips? We are strictly trailer boaters...
                    Don't mind owning 2 ... Sea level and Altitude ... One could always serve as spare in a jam?

                      Really, you need a spare anyways so keep it, and get a regular prop. I got the high alt prop with my 30 and then purchased an even more aggressive Acme 2305 and keep my old High alt prop as my spare. So far so good.

                        For sure you always need a spare. An errant tree or sandbar can ruin an entire weekend unless you have a spare. It's cheap insurance so that a small mistake doesn't ruin an entire trip or week. Pulling the prop and swapping takes 5 min tops with the right tools. Invest in a nice prop puller as well.

                          Yup, I'm gonna get a 2nd Prop and the WAKEProps kit and Bag...

                              If you plan on really sacking it out you may want to check out WillyT's new XStar prop thread. Apparently the 15x12 is even better than the 14.5
