  • First test of 06 X30 surf wake

I finally got out to test the surf wake on my new to me 06 X30.

Full KGB, port side, with a 400 lb fat sac on top of the port hard tank. The trim tab is all the way down and just one adult in the back of the boat.

It's kind of hard to get a feel for the size of the wake with no one on it and the lighting is poor. My droid doesn't take the best video.

    Lost the video...

If the water would have been a bit warmer I would have gotten in. As it is now I'll have to wait until next spring which sucks.

That looks like lots of wake to surf on. I have a 57" CWB Tsunami, and it works great behind my '06 X-30 w/ factory ballast. In fact, we are getting beginners up on it as well. My bro and his kid both got up at the same time, one on the Tsunami, the other on a 63" something-or-other. Both on the same rope, then both let go at the same time...

I love how sharp that wave is on top... That will be awesome. Get in! It won't be cold once you are surfing!

I have pics of the wake, I'll try to find them and post them.

Ordered a custom 620 lb bag to go in the port locker over the hard tank. As I was doing some measuring it was clear to see the 400 lb bag didn't come close to filling up the locker.

I'm hoping the extra weight will help. As you can clearly see in the video the rub rail is no where near the water line while at surf speed.

Well I got the new custom port sac install finally and got to test it yesterday. The water is still to cold for me to get in.

The rideable area on the wake is easily 10 feet long and wake is massive compared to my old boat.

        lost the video.

I'm extremely happy with the results.

You need more weight, try adding another ton if you want a decent surf wake.

Welcome to TT Pettee. Thanks for the advice but I'm not going to go that crazy with the weight! The wake is decent enough and stil lsafe to boat.

            Have a great week dude!

Nice work, I'm working on lengthening the curl on my X1. Some of the fun is in working with it.

Pic taken minus the 3 new 250kg bags....she sits a touch lower now but more evenly sunk in the rear and lower on the nose.

                        Chunky mates are great.

Um, I wonder if filling the starboard side hard tank would help a port side wake.
