An if you every get any surface scratches, you can polish them back out. All my buddies have got them on their trailers and they look great and are tough!

Hadn't thought about how easily the scratches would polish out. Nice benefit.

Stainless for sure... Really brightens it up, especially with the chrome wheels. If you like that look, look at getting the aluminum checkerplate step pads - goes well with the stainless/chrome look. Thats how I ordered my '12.

Just sold 05 X9 with fiberglass fenders. Didn't have any trouble other than the rubber treads where you step flying off on the freeway and the rubber bezels on clearance lights don't hold the lights in fenders.
We just got a 07 X2 with the aluminum diamond plated fenders, (Nor-Cal boat) I really like the aluminum diamond plated fenders much better. No chipping, no rubber pads ejecting, lights are rivited in and don't fall out. I'm with bjames - Go with the stainless.
Screws fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place.

Stainless isnt an option for my old trailer, but bondo, sanding, painting and clear coating sure made mine nice again... Add the LED lights, the new guide post covers and custom non-skid pads, here's the result:

                              What does the fox say?

                              Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding...

You know they all have a little string hanging out, but it's not a tampon, it's a price tag...
