  • Transom Saver Question

    Hi Guys,

I just purchased the transom saver to go my X30's teak platform. Was curious if anyone had pictures of exactly where it needs to be mounted???? Some look to be flush with the back edge of the teak and others look to be held off. I'd like to get your input before installing. Thanks!

Mine came from the factory just off, about where the radius edge evens out. Not as far off as you show in your photo, maybe 1/4".

On my 2010 Prostar with the deck up and pinned its about 3/8 inch from the gel coat.

Has to be a little space otherwise the deck will never make it....and I'm assuming you have the same deck as I.

Also, give it enough room so you can still clear the rubrail when you remove the platform.

          This is mine.

Sometimes when putting boards or skis on, accidents happen, and the board or ski slides across the platform and hits the transom. The raised piece acts as a buffer.

Ski's welcome on my teak, boards are not. No transom saver on my Prostar, but gave it a good bump just last week and kinda wished I had one.
