  • Replacing V Drive Hard Tanks with Sacs

04 X30. Looking to replace the V drive hard tank tanks with sacs. Looks like 750# sacs fit nicely in the V drive compartment. Looks like Wakemakers makes a kit with connectors for replacing the tanks with sacs. Is it a pretty straighforward process? Stock ballast pumps still work well for filling the sacs? I'm not looking to have to buy additional pumps, fittings, etc. I'm just looking to keep the stock plumbing but add more weight.

    Thanks

It simple to swap them out. Stock plumbing works fine, but it takes a long time to fill 750s. I added 2 thru hulls this winter, so I could run all 3 pumps at once. With the stock setup I could only run 1 or 2 pumps at a time.

It's the Mastercraft tank buster kit at wakemakers.com.... i also swapped my hard tanks out for 750's... really easy upgrade.

do the tanks come out in 1 piece or do they need to be cut apart? I'm thinking of doing this on at least the surf side but would like to be able to turn it back to stock if need be. Anyone out there have pictures? Would like to see what it looks like installed and where you put the extra through hulls? Thanks, Nate

There are no extra thru hulls... the tank buster kit attaches to your current fill/drain hoses... if your hard tanks are above the floor they are just held in place with L brackets. Easy to take out and put back in if needed.

I did this very thing using 1000 lb bags. I have an x15. I had to remove the rear sundeck cushions to get my tanks out.
