  • Oil leak in 95 Prostar

    Flywheel is dry , did tighten 3 loose nuts on oil pan last week. Anywhere else I'm missing ?

    Might want to check oil sender, and where oil drain hose connect.

      Describe where oil sender is ? Have already checked drain hose fittings. Bone dry there.

        Looks like this http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=R020001

        and is on port side of engine next to distributor cap. Other issue might be rear main seal.

        Where do you see most oil collecting?

          In bilge, right next to drain plug.

            IS the boat in the water? If not - time to line the bilge with paper towels to see where oil is dripping.

              Check the drain plug. Should have a large brass bolt/nut with a hose attached to it for draining the oil thru your bilge plug. They rarely come loose but the oil pan will rot out in that area.
