If for some reason you start to believe you are a person with influence, just try ordering somebody else's dog around.

Could that boat be a 1980? Newer bow, old dash and the late windshield? Gonna be nice!

hopefully I'll be able to find the number on the transom over the weekend and the year of manufacture mystery can be finally sorted..

              in the meantime..

the rip out started within 24 hours of me getting the boat home..

the reason being the inner (engine mount) stringers are more like mush than wood.. the front mount had dropped by about 1"

real comfy rear seat area.. lol

              now gone..

and the front now gone too..

with the carpet ripped up it was time to get onto the floor itself..

the ply bulkhead panel you can see under the dashboard is now removed as that had also rotted due to the fact when the later windshield was fitted it hadnt been sealed correctly

the rip out is a bit further on than pictured at the moment but I didnt take any pics from last weekends work.. I'll get some done before I start this weekend (hopefully he says cause its snowing at the moment)

Nice pics, nice boat, and nice project. Thanks for sharing.

The HIN should be right below the rubrail on the right side of the transom. The info is killing me already, I can't believe you've had the boat for a week and haven't found it yet.

                      lol its killing you !!!

I didnt even know there was such a thing as a HIN ?? I knew it wasnt mid 80's and suspected very early, I also knew it was quite a rare colour as I have only ever seen 1 other in black 20 years ago and as my sherlock holmes / columbo investigations turned out its the same boat anyway LOL..

Now i'm excited to the prospect that it might even be the only 1 in the uk.

I'll be looking for this damn HIN number tomorrow in the daylight for sure it'll be posted here about 30 seconds after !!!

Right there is no hun on my boat just some little holes where possibly an id plate used to be, I'm not concerned as my friends 85 S&S also has no hun, and I checked 2 other boats locally and they haven't got a stamped in number either.. so what the heck its carry on regardless...

didnt get any work done on the boat last weekend due to the terrible weather, this weekend looks better and have arranged for the engine to be removed so I can get on ripping the stringers out.. will get some more pics up over the weekend
