  • Swimsuit blead onto Vinyl

We were out yesterday with friends and i started noticing little grey drips on the seats. I thought it was on of the kids Gatorade. Then our friend stood up and the seat was black where she was sitting. It seemed like her black swimsuit was bleeding. We tried wiping it with water right away but it did nothing. When we got home we used the Totally Awsome and 303 cleaner. Neither helped at all. We reluctantly tried Magic Eraser in some small areas. It seemed to lighten it a little bit but nowhere near enough to calm our MCOCD. I've heard the Magic Erasers can damage the seats because of their abbarasive makeup.

I've read a few threads on here that said letting is sit out in the sun will help. Were trying that right now. Anyone else run into this and have suggestions?

Here's a picture. In my eyes the actual looks worse than the picture. I tried to get a picture of the drip marks but they didn't come out.

This is why I've been trying to institute a no suits for the ladies rule on my boat. So far the wife has put the nix on this. Read a thread on wakeworld concerning cleaning upholstery with wd-40. Seems wrong to me, but might be worth a try in this instance. Goo Gone, DiSolve It, and a carpet cleaner called Spot Shot might be worth a try. I'd start with the spot shot, and test it on an inconspicuous are first. I've never had a problem with it, but I'd hate to hear you did.

Before going at it with the stronger cleaners, try leaving it out in the sun - it may take an afternoon or two or three, but I think you'll luck out and have the stain be gone. Keep us posted on how things turn out. We've had some tough-to-remove stains on our vinyl before (spider poop, blue jean short bleed, etc) and all came out just fine after a few afternoons skiing. Hope your situation ends up as good.

^^^^^ towels are great. i use white towels or very well worn/washed towels that i know won't bleed and that's what everyone sits on. my wife actually likes sitting on the towels better anyhow because she doesn't stick to the seats

I used barkeepers friend to get this out before. Most of it came tight off. The slight shadow of the stain faded away after a few days in the sun.

Try this stuff. Malco Leather and Plastic cleaner. It took stains off that nothing else would.

This has never happened on the MC but it happens often on the pontoon boat. Sun will fix it. My seat was pink for a few days due to a beach bag left sitting on it. It will be fine.

we bring a huge bag of towels every trip, I personally do not like the light colored interior in my boat. I think a darker gray would be much easier to keep clean.

Its not their suits, its the sun screen they are using and either sweating off onto the seats or just dripping off of them.

Do not let anyone sit on the or lay on the seats with sun screen on. Have them lay on a towel.
