  • Selected Viper to redo our 97 Sammy 205

We decided to spend the $$$$$ and take our boat to Viper on April 7th for new carpet and interior. Visited with Jim and Carl on Monday to review and feel confident it will look great. Heading to Florida tonight with boat and then time for the facelift.

          We need pics!
Being on the water is best, but when I'm not on the water I'm on TT.

I read how you all like pictures so will make sure I post. Worked with Jim and have appt to drop off April 7th and it is theirs for 2 weeks. Left last night after getting back from a meeting in Pittsburg, enjoying the rest of springbreak in Florida. Read all the reviews positive and negative but cant seeem to beat the end results...it also helps they are 20 minutes away!

Hard to tell in your pictures...but what color is the stripe on you boat and are you adding that color to interior? Redoing in original patterns or mixing it up? Keep posting!

Pics will come soon. Interior is in storage shed while I do a wet sand and polish and new carpet. Viper has pics on facebook. It is the grey and black. I had them change the black stripes on the rear seat, looked odd.

It was done in two weeks. I told them to take there time, I was in no hurry. When I picked it up they looked pretty full and Jim said they were getting very busy.

Our boat is grey bottom, forest green stripe and white. We are not going to replace with current design. Will minimize green vinyl but will reatin some green. Embroidery will be green IF the thread is colorfast and will not fade etc. If it will have atendancy to fade then grey embroidery. Shield on anchor hatch retain Sammy Duvall on observers and back seat add Mastercraft of combing pads. Carpet will be a darker grey versus the current light grey. Spoke with Carl and he knows what we are looking to achieve and has latitude with artstic designs. Did specifh no quilt stich look....just dont think it would look good our boat. Have seen alot with the black or charcoal on set perimeter and like but cant imagine it working with oud boat colors.

Our material will be pearl carbon fiber..lighter grey carbon fiber and possibly forest green piping...have a mock sewed up sample in boat and will post tomorrrow.

No doubt that you have a beautiful boat and after a new interior, arguably one of the finest 95-97 around. LT1 power? Keep posting.

No LT1, std 275. To be honest when searching for a 205 the LT1 was an option I was hoping to avoid due to the complexity of the electronics. After reading in the past few months on the sensor replacement difficulty, it confirmed my initial concerns. Of course, if I had found a 205 in the right condition and colors, I wouldn't have walked away.

Here is a mock up...taking boat in Monday. Not sure if we want grey or go all white with green piping and embroidery. Think like the Tournament Team boats. Also thinking about the darker grey vs lighter for carpet. Stripping boat today of stereo equipment today.

Mock up is color and piping only....size is not correct.
