Just curious as to why you say your preference is the earlier 205's, aside from you owning one? Is it because of a flatter wake? I've heard that 96 and after had a smoother ride, just not sure how much. I'm finding many more 95' 205's in my price range than 96's. Just not sure how much difference to expect. I do want a happy wife.
Jeff - Long time no chat. Can you help me with a question? My hole shot was rough yesterday. Fine top end. I tried several shots and sometimes it was perfect, sometimes I could tell it was idling rough, then poor launch. Boat has ~425 hours now. PO was meticulous. 98 LT1. I have NAPA fuel filters before and after the fuel pump, replaced last year. Pump only whines upon energization, then sits quietly. Searching the threads, most people jump on fuel pump going. Hard to tell what pump is in there even with the clamp off. Carter P60962 looks like the correct one, but some say P60987 is the same pump. Rock Auto P60987 is $40. I am thinking cheap insurance. Did you ever run to ground the Carter pump model number discrepancy? Thanks. Scott
