NXT Tower

Hi, new Mastercraft owner of a 2020 NXT 22.
Does anyone know, is the tower pre-wired with anything? For example, there are 4 speaker mounts on the tower, is there wiring in place to add 2 more speakers. Also, considering adding some forward and rear facing lights to it, would there be any wiring in the tower for any kind of lighting or would I just need to tear into it and fish some wires? Is it easy to access?

NXT Tower

Yes all pre-wired usually if the option is available to order.

I would assume that all 4 speaker positions are wired for audio and probably also for LED speaker rings. If forward or rear facing lights are (or were — are we in 2021 MY yet) an option for that boat, There are most likely wires already in the tower. If lights are/were not a factory option, then I doubt MC put the extra cost in parts and materials into the boat to support options they don’t offer from the factory.

I doubt that forward facing light wiring (assuming there is a switch for that in your boat) goes into the tower anyway. Hasn’t MC moved to all rubrail mounted forward docking lights? I know that I installed them on my ‘13 X25 and prefer them in a big way to tower mounted lights (which really just served to light up my bow seating and ruin my night vision when in use).

Look next to the amp for unused wires. If it’s wired to the tower they will also be under the observer seat.

They donít do that anymore. Itís at the base of the tower now.

Some NXTs used to come without wires. I would be surprised if there are wiring for lights, but you could use the speaker light wires if they are in there.

NXT Tower

Thanks that helps alot. The tower does have wiring in it which is good but the amp may not run 2 more speakers. I will have to dig into that.

They will have speaker wires, and on the NXT, I would doubt it would have LED lighting wire as they don't have that option. I'd go with bow lighting in the rub rail. Tower lights are worthless based on the glare they create.
