1988 Prostar Fuel Level Sensor

So I replaced my fuel level sender a couple years ago, no big issue there. It has however failed again, and I wasn't overly impressed with the longevity of the sender, or its accuracy.

This was the old style

I'm thinking of giving this style a shot, as the price points aren't too far off from each other. Any opinions on these? Does anyone remember of the top of their head what length I'd need for an 88 Prostar 190 with the plastic tank?
