There are much better ways than the URL based approach.

As a software dev using this platform is painful. While I can easily create a URL for the pic the fact that I need to is seriously a pain and limits my willingness to use it.

I'm happy to help with an effort to make this easier.

you can go "advanced" and upload pictures too, at the bottom of the window there should be "go advanced" button somewhere, easy to do, some size parameters but otherwise easy to do
