2008 X2 tower options? Needs to fold low.

We love our recently purchased 2008 X2 from here. We received an amazing deal on a dock with a lift but the roof of dock is too low and also on our local lake dry stack is $100 extra for tower up too. The tower on this thing is a pain in the you know what and takes forever. Any other options for another tower on this that will fold down like some of the newer towers. If you say no I may be forced to upgrade to a 2014 X30

Thanks in advance.

Bill

With practice you can drop the tower in a couple minutes. Get a cover made to go over the folded tower. I made a cradle to rest my tower on so it wont dimple the engine and locker doors. Guessing you can get a cover made for pennies in comparison to tower replacement. $1,500?

Yes, it is a bit of a pain, but I could raise and lower mine in less than 5 minutes. I kept it in the garage and had to do it many, many times.

I used to lift and lower the tower each trip and you're right its a pain in the ... But, I got pretty good at it and could put it up / down in just a few minutes. I used a 2x4 and laid it between the top of the ski pylon and the rear of the upper deck, then laid the tower down on the 2x4. This kept the tower and speakers from resting on the cushions and damaging them.

I used a couple plastic cutting boards slipped between either side of the engine cover to rest the tower on. The plastic is thin, easy to store and won't mark the vinyl.

I vote for the boat upgrade

Just upgraded from an 08 X2 to a 18 XT23 and the new towers are so much better/easier to raise and lower!

I will buy your tower if you decide to change it. The money will help you get another tower! Dibs

Great solution. I hung my tower from some ropes attached to the garage ceiling to keep it from resting on the engine cover. This also allowed me to get into the engine compartment and storage lockers when the tower was down.
