2002 Prostar 209 swim step attachment

The problem I am having is with the attachment of the swim step. With the constant rollers hitting the boat while in the slip the attachment hole is widening. Has anyone done anything to correct the play in the attachment? Where the pin goes through both brackets.

Take it to someone who tig welds and close the hole up. Redrill repaint and you’re good to go. You can also spend 300 for a new bracket.

Or just drill new holes. I have my own tig welder but I wouldn't take the time to weld up the original holes.
