Dropping a New Dimension tower

I went through the fairly complex process of replacing my gen 1 ZFF tower on a 2000 205V with a new dimension. Very happy with the updated look but disappointed with the difficulty to drop the tower. I am only 5'9" and risk loosing control of it as i bring it forward ( and it goes higher). This means i need to pull the speakers, which i was hoping to avoid. Has anyone tried re-configuring to drop to the stern instead of the bow? Wiring would require snap connectors but i wouldn't mind this if it meant in general it was easier to raise / lower.

We made it a two man job. One person lifts it and the other catches it in the bow.

I've got the same tower on my boat, and did exactly what you're thinking of with connectors for the speaker wires. I used Deutsch connectors like these. LINK Don't recall where I bought them, but it was a pretty simple task to cut the speaker wires where they passed from the leg to the tower and splice in the connectors. I did it because I needed to take the tower completely off. But because I'm stubborn, I still tilt the tower forward when I need to fold it down.
