2008 Prostar 197 platform removal?

Iím hoping to pull the swim platform to redo teak oil. Do I just pull the two pins and hinge the platform upwards to remove?

If its the same as my X14, you will also have to remove the bolt on each side to remove it. The spacers are a PIA when you put it back on.

I would not remove it. I made that mistake last year and the spacers are indeed a PITA to reinstall. I used a little toothpaste to hold them in place. Better off swinging it down and refinishing it. Tape off a drop cloth to protect your hull.

Unless something has changed, the 197 does not have spacers. Just pull the two pins and the platform lifts straight up. Easier with two people, one on each end, but doable with one reaching from the back around the sides of the platform.

my 2003 197 has the glass platform. I just pull the pins, lift a bit and slide out

On the 2005 197 you pull the pins and the platform slides straight out.

I hope mine is the same. Itís teak and has a pretty complex structure compared to my Nautique which slide in from the top and lock with big pins

The "spacers" (iirc) are just nylon washers and are, indeed, a pain to get back in place. I'm fairly sure I didn't worry about them all that much when removing my 197 and X14 platforms. Remove the platform and refinish it. Don't keep it on the boat.

Can you post a picture of your platform? I have not looked at the newer models but on my boat (2003 prostar 209) you just pull the two pins (one on each side) and slide the teak platform out. To reinstall its easier with two people.
