  • 2008 X-Star 40th Aniv

I am having trouble determining what is a fair price for used boat purchases. The amount being asked is so much different than ANY of the amounts shown on the NADA website.

How do hours factor into it? As a first time boat owner I want something used but don't want something that is going to be a lot of trouble. I know they are all some trouble....

I am looking in the 0 to 400 hour range, does this seem like a good choice? And would prefer a 2008 X-Star 40th Anniversary edition. Based on looks. But would go with anything from 2004 - 2010 with the right hours and the right price and could always put a little into making it look good.

Anyways what would you expect to pay for a 2008 X-Star 40th Anniversary with less than 200 hours down in the South.

If its the one I looked at it was used in salt water just about 100% of its 80 hrs. Sales Broker indicated it was washed after every outing per owner?????? again Sales Broker stated, he really haven't got a clue, could been washed after each outing but they missed quite a bit of salty water because I found salt build up in many places in and around the transom and motor compartment. Sales Rep said he has a signed disclosure indicating no damage or repair history, wrong. I can visually see repair on the starboard side under the water line in three different places, fiberglass swim platform was rough and scratches, gouging on the transom which the broker said it was something that could easily rub out, thats BS
All I can say is buyer beware

hard to say depends on the actually condition of the boat overall interior, exterior, power train, and trailer i know all the special edition either a pwt or anniversary edition bring more money at least new they it was alot 8-10k with all options but a 08 is worth between 50-67k nada is just a guide line market demand and what one guy is willing to pay another will settle for is another story.
