  • 2003 Mastercraft 209

I am putting my Mastercraft Prostar 209, X-9 up for sale. This is a two owner boat. The first owner bought the boat new in 2003 and was unable to use it due to a broken back. My family and I bought the boat used in early spring of 2004 with ~10 hours. I have had the boat since and has always been garage kept except for the last year.

    Asking $25,000.

The boat is in very good condition. My intent is to be as honest and open as possible in the true condition of the boat.
    - Minor gelcoat scratches due to trailering during a Texas thunderstorm
-vinyl stitching is pulling on some seats (this is a chronic problem in this era Mastercraft)
-Engine is in near perfect condition (Chevy 350 v8)
-oil is changed every 50 hours or once a year, which ever came first
-transmission fluid changed every 100 hours
-Tower speakers with 400w Sony marine amp
-New JL Audion marine 6.5" speakers (4) and new 600w JL Audio amp
-Single axle Custom trailer built by Mastercraft with new tires and spare (new seals and bearings on each hub), swing away tongue
-Boat comes with 4 Fat Sacs, 600lbs, (2x) 250lbs, 400lbs plus fat sac pumps ($800 value)
    -Underwater transom lights ($500 value)
-New SkiBoatCovers water line cover made with Sunbrella fabric ($1400 value)
    -Barefoot boom included ($500 value)
-Tower with the 2004 clamping board racks

The pictures may show a little surface mildrew from sitting all winter. Unfortunately I left my cleaner at the house when I went to take pictures.

I am sure there is more I am missing. Craislist link:

Nice looking 209. You may want to edit the post to include your price. You might also want to note that you have the 2004 the clamping racks. The 2003 racks were a one year only thing as the design was less than optimal. 03 rack below

The X9/209 is still may favorite boat that I have ever owned. Good luck with the sale!

Hmmm. Odd to me. Not your first, not the best at anything, but still your favorite. Could be a few reasons that come to mind.....

(And I'm not trying to knock the 209, I'm a fan of it.)
              Prior boats - (3) X14's, (3) Prostars, and a Tristar.

It was totally reliable, easy to work on, didn't come with dash computers to upgrade/flash/rewire, better at slalom than my X14V, would surf pretty well when weighted properly, still drove like a sports car because the engine was in the "right" place, and it was much better in open water than my 205. I was also younger, healthier and drank a lot more.

Of course, I love the X10 for surf, but I don't ever want to do any real maintenance with the engine slammed into that little hole!

I agree the 209 is super versitale for those that don’t care about a single discipline pro performance. We loved ours at the time. Put 500hrs on it with not a single issue.

You should try craigslist for sure. This isn’t the best/only place to sell your MC
