We use a boom on our 197 all the time....will this be a problem on an X14? Love the color and the flake btw.
You need a B204 boom to fit on an X14/214. Once you have that boom the type of clamp also matters. If you have the standard clamp that both sides fit around the pylon, you will need a "Boom Height Adjuster" because the clamp will be mounted high on the pylon and the connection point needs to be low.
If you get the B204 with the V-Drive clamp, like me, you can get it to work without the height extender because you can get the clamp low enough.
Either way, a 24" extension would be a great investment as well.

A standard boom will not clear the standard windshield on the X14. Which is why MC came out with the BTS windshield - for this problem, on this boat. Apparently it's caught - on I think they now use it on other models. But there are offset booms that will work on the 214/ X14
Great looking boat, but even down under that is still upside down.....
I thought my edit was to delete the photo, but then I saw it upside down in there anyway. Then today I see it right side up and I don't know how it got fixed.???
The build paperwork actually says "PS214X14". The dealer pulled it up while working on the trade value. So I listed it the same way. Thanks for the input.
So did my X14....I think you actually have an X14, not a 214. FWIW
