Thanks to TT Member Blakeeatmon for selling me his sweet X23 a few weeks ago, I am listing my PS209. $30,500 obo.
I ordered this boat at the 2005 boat show and have been the only owner. It’s been a great boat, and if I had the room, I would just keep it. I am very particular about my stuff and this boat has been upgraded and maintained very well. Other than one trip back to the dealer for warranty work the first year, it has never been back to the dealer. I do all the maintenance myself – oil changes every year using Mobil Delvac 15W40, transmission fluid change every year using Valvoline Dextron Mercon, impeller removed over winter and replaced every other year.
This boat does it all. I run 34off slalom, barefoot, wakeboard, and surf behind this boat. It is in excellent shape for its age. I wax is a couple times a summer. It sits on a Hydrohoist over the summer and it is garage stored in the winter.
A few things: Despite gallons of 303 over the years, the rear sun deck is showing signs of the inevitable cracking at the stitching. I’ve been driving MC for 25 years, so rarely bump into anything – but there area few gel coat nicks here and there. But certainly nothing major. No dent, dings, or scratches in the hull. I would say overall it is in amazing shape for its age, but I know this is subjective.
It was ordered just like an X9 but with the PS209 graphics. Factory options:
Hull and deck white
Main stripe Navy Flake
Secondary Stripe Slate Gray
Interior – dove white with charcoal and grey accents
350HP MCX Drive by wire with 1:1 Transmission
Dual line Perfect pass – works perfect, but display sometimes blanks out when it is very humid. A known issue with PP and they have an upgrade/replacement program. It just never bothered me that much.
Folding tower with clamping board racks
Ski locker ballast and rear seat ballast – two separate ballast puppies
Factory MC Cover
Teak swim platform
Tracking fins
Single Axle, folding tongue, Dorsey trailer with 6 lug axles. Hydraulic UFP disc brakes with oil bath hubs. Way better than the MC trailer of the day.
A complete list of upgrades:
Stereo: All Kicker and it sounds amazing. – 6 6.5RS cockpit speaker, Fusion Audio tower speakers (prob need to be upgraded), L7 12 subwoofer under driver kick, Kicker SX1250.1 for sub, SX900.4 for cockpit speakers, SX900.2 for tower speakers. Remote level controls for tower and sub at driver’s seat. Pioneer DEH80PRS with Bluetooth, USB, and AUX inputs. 2 Farad capacitor with 0 gauge stinger wiring.
Chromax Graphics: Removed all the original graphics and upgraded to the new chromax badges with the MC shield. I love the timeless look.
Batteries: Three blue top Optima. All sit below floor to save storage. One is for the engine, and two are dedicated for the stereo. An automated dual battery relay provides isolation when sitting and charging of all three batteries when underway.
Rudder: upgraded to oversized X30 rudder – single biggest improvement to boat. I also installed new steering cable a few years ago. I spent a few days tuning it and now it steers and tracks like a dream.
Prop: Upgraded to Acme 3 blade 1221 13x10.5 0.08 Cup. I has an amazing hole shot.
Ballast: The factory wired the ballast pumps with just switches. The voltage loss was huge and sometimes it would struggle to start the pumps. I upgraded to a relay box like what comes in the newer boats. Plus I upgraded the rear bag to 1K lbs and the fill/empty lines to 1”. It fills very fast now. I believe the pumps have green impellers and both pumps were polished to improve performance.
OJ folding platform brackets: Super helpful for storage.
Barefoot boom: Included and upgraded with spectre rope and straightline hull protector.
Prop Shaft Alignment: I do this every other year and you can turn the prop with one finger.
