  • 2009 X2 for sale on Center Hill Lake, TN. Anyone know it?

I’ve been looking for a nice late 2000s X2 and this one has popped up in TN but I’m in Portland, Maine. Anyone happen to know the boat. She looks great but she has the RTP, which I feel is a little overhyped versus the MCX. Clearly, the MCX is prettier and probably nicer but is it really a deal breaker? Any feedback would be appreciated before I drive 18 hours to see her!

Don't know the boat, but had the RTP in my 2006 X2 and never had any issues. We were mainly surf, ski and tube and never had a lack of power and no issues selling it when the time came.

      Mjohnsen,

Thanks for the info. From my research, it seems like it might be more of a concern in some of the larger/heavier MC boats. We plan to keep her for a while so I’m not too concerned about the resale. 2006 is the same pickle fork hull? How was the skiing?

I have a 07 x2 with RTP with 750 hrs. no issues at all. we run close to 3K in ballast and have GSA on it. Been a great boat.

rtp is a good motor, more torque than mcx but rtp has little less hp,
Gotta ask yourself why all the electrical problems past and present
It's a hard pass just because of the electrical issues

My 07 X2 had the RTP, power was never an issue. I've been in the same boat with an MCX and honestly couldn't tell the difference with the engine cover closed. With it open the MCX is very pretty and way better looking than the RTP.

If having a pretty engine is very important to you then get the MCX, if that's not on the top of your list you'll be just fine with the RTP.

@jgraham37128 or @SteveO will be along here shortly, and they are on that lake often.

Yes, 2006 is same pickle fork. Ski wake was fine for me in open water, but no direct drive. I didn't have the center plate but have heard that makes a difference.

I appreciate the honesty in the posting but “ The MCU, all ballast sensors, fuel sensor, batteries, and sound system fuses are all brand new.” That does seem odd. What would cause that many failure? Anyone else experience similar issues with their X2?

The RTP is fine in the X2. My friend had the 2006 photoshoot boat with it.
                    Prior boats - (3) X14's, (3) Prostars, and a Tristar.

I've not seen this boat but had a friend ask me about it. Registration looks like it isn't registered in TN so I'd want to know the history. Second it doesn't have a bimini which is 2K and the speakers have been replaced so not sure what else has been modified. I told him to pass, mainly because the price was high for not being in perfect condition.

The RTP I had one in my 2010 X2 with 475 hours when I sold it. It was great I'd buy another one in a minute. My X2 was a great boat.

I'll be more than happy to look at it for you if interested but I'd ask those questions first. I live in Murfreesboro so I can look at it wherever it is.
