  • WTB: Speaker cans & tower mounts for a 2003-2004 190/197/X7 ZeroFlex Flyer Tower

I'm hoping my fellow MasterCraft Team Talk members here might be able to help. I have a 2004 MasterCraft 197 Tournament Team with the factory ZeroFlex Flyer tower. The previous owner removed and sold the tower speakers long before I purchased the boat. I'm trying to reinstate the tower speakers and prefer the original look. The original style and mounts are as pictured below (which I snagged from an OLD MasterCraft TeamTalk forum posting). Does anyone have a pair or even a set of 4 sitting around they are looking to part with? Or know a source for these tower speaker cans and mounts?

Shameless bump. I'd also consider speaker cans with lights like the picture below.

I understand wanting to put the originals back in and I don't blame you at all. However, before you do, you might want to make sure that you can find speakers that will bolt right in there. Those year models normally had clarion speakers in them which have no been bought out by jl audio. Jl audio does make that size but the screw holes don't match up perfectly and it requires you to drill and tap new holes. It's a pain in the neck to do. You might actually be better off just putting in a newer speaker and can. I did this swap on a friends 2004 x10 a couple weeks ago and it took a long time and was a lot of work. In the end, it looked good but didn't sound as good as my fosgate speakers and cans on my x star. However, it did look good!

rolleronariver - thanks for the input (and the bump ;-) ). I've had others make similar comments to what you're saying. I've also had others (albeit fewer) say they've taken the course I'm on and have been happy (enough) ... though they did mention the limitations and the patience required to refit current 6.5" speakers into these older cans. So, I think I'm going to stay the course and hopefully find someone who is wanting to change from their old cans and I can buy them at a fair price.

Shameless bump TTT. Still looking. If anyone out there is looking to update their speakers and are moth-balling/selling/scrapping an old set of cans like the ones I'm looking for, I'd love to hear from you.
