Wtb: $10000-30000 Mastercraft

I am looking to buy a Matercraft open bow boat. I thought I bought one but it was sold from underneath me by Erickson's Marine in Hastings Minn.

I want to spend between 10K and 30K. I am looking for low hours and a well maintained boat. I have noticed a lot of junk out there.

It can be a 205, 205v, 209, X9, X10, X1, X2, Xstar, Maristar 210. Any help or leads would be great. I thought I was going to be on the water this weekend and now I am back to square one.

Bummer about the boat; happened to me before I found my 195.

Those boats you identified are all in high-demand (great long-lasting boats in the price range of normal people) and we're a little past peak selling season. You are going to have to narrow it down a bit and prioritize for some guidance.

How do you want to use the boat and what is your preferred list?

Great Ski wake
Great Wakeboarding
Great Surfing
Need large area for a lot of passengers
Or passenger capacity not important
Able to handle big waves/chop on water (smoother ride)
What's your overall use of the boat

You can get a lot better guidance once we know a little more......

Thanks everyone. My overall use is pulling Family and friends. Easy skiing, wakeboarding or surfing. I also would like something that will allow me to jump behind the boat and do some footing. I wish I could narrow it down but the more you narrow it down the less available there are.

What are peoples thoughts on ps197? Seems a little small for what I want to do but at this point I just want a good boat to get me on the water.

That X-star in Kentucky is sweet and not to far of a drive but I am hoping to keep the hours under 400.

I know right? I might be asking too much. I may have to wait for end of the season this year or early next year.

If you've got a lot of family and friends that like to join you on the boat, the 197/X-7's going to be a little small, and it is not a good surf boat. For what you're looking to do I would stick to V-Drives.

Hours on a boat, especially well-maintained Mastercrafts, aren't a huge deal. Honestly, for a 10 year-old boat, I'd rather have one with 552 hours than 110; likely means it was used and maintained well each season rather than being a garage queen that only came out on holidays.

I've got an '04 X30 that might be just what you are looking for. We are looking to move up to an X45 or I wouldn't sell the boat. My price may be "slightly" over what you are looking to pay, but this boat is big enough to do what you want with family and friends, and with the upgraded 350hp Indmar, has plenty of power for skiing, surfing, etc. Throws a great surf wave, too! I'm in Arkansas but could travel a ways to meet you.

MagnoliaHog i would love an X30 but unfortunately I do not have a vehicle big enough to tow it. I have a V8 explorer and i think that might be just a little too much for it. I really appreciate the info.

I sold 2003 x2 in ky yesterday

I agree with jmlvmi. I would put my 552 hour boat (55 hours every year) up against one of same age with 100 hours mechanically any day. Always used and maintained. I'm sure 100 hour interior would be nicer though.
Mine had predator engine. I had to do NOTHING to boat in ten years except change fluids impeller and winterize.

How far would be your normal tow distance for the boat? I have seen vids of Zane and other guys pulling xstars with v6 Toyota SUVs do I would think you would be okay if you took it easy and only had to tow within an hours drive.

I've towed my X30 with my 97 land cruiser. When I'm going a few miles to the launch, I prefer it due to the 4wd and the ability to select low range with all 3 diffs open. For long highway trips, I uses my wife's expedition. I figure its around 6500lbs on the trailer. What is the tow capacity of your explorer?
