  • 1993 Prostar

Posting for a friend of mine. 1993 Mastercraft Prostar 25th anniversary. 351 indmar 333 hours. Perfect condition, always garaged. Has DHL double axle trailer with swing tongue. Has hot water shower and heater. Yearly maintenance with records.

Only issue is that the fuel gauge needle has fallen off its mount. Where can a person get a fuel gauge?

He was told that this boat was ordered with this trailer because the original owner wanted a dual axle trailer. Has anyone heard of this? I know Mastercraft had dual axle trailers in 93, why would it be a DHL?

    Interested in a realistic price.

    Thanks

That boat looks to be very clean. As far as I know, dealers could always put the boat on any trailer they want. In the late 80's a lot of MC's would come with SMP trailers. I don't know when MC started manufacturing their own trailers but even today some dealers choose other brands, mostly Boatmate.

      How many hours?

That boat is $10 -$14K IMO.
      Prior boats - (3) X14's, (3) Prostars, and a Tristar.

Oh, and from what I have read, DHL is an excellent trailer.

Nice boat good condition - $7500 to $9000 is my estimate. higher side now that warm weather might finally be breaking.

That is what I'd put a decent '87 - '90 at. I think a nice '93 gets more, but again just my thoughts.

You're right it should get more - but spending time in Chiberia watching boat sales... there was a sweet 94 with lt1 that should have sold for 11,000 but did not just recently... as well as others. - I wish they would sell for more... would make my 1995 worth more..

I saw that '94 and I thought that was worth more. Either prices of good slalom boats ('91 - '99 era) have dropped dramatically in a year or its an isolated aberration for the moment.

The economy is not doing great and us who would spend this kind of money are holding off I bet.

I wonder what DatDude will be driving this season...

Market price indicator - $12,000 (but I'd clean the carpet....)

What someone is willing to pay?????

What an interesting boat you have there.

Bear with me for a second:
First, every 1993 MC had "25th Anniversary" on it somewhere, usually on the steering wheel cap. But the only limited edition "Anniversary Edition" boats were the silver flake with red accents. You could pay for the optional Stars and Stripes package, but it was not limited in number.

Second--and what makes this one interesting--is that it's the ONLY 1993 I have ever seen with that gel coat package. It wasn't standard until 1995, which is the next hull and body style. Maybe the all white with accent stripes only was an option I haven't seen yet for the '93s. Heck, maybe I'm off base and there are a ton of them out there, but I've been interested in these boats for a while now and haven't seen one yet.

I agree with the 10-13k assessment in the condition I can see from the pictures. Very nice.

Nice boat.....less than 20 hours of use per year. Either is was stored for a while or the hour meter has been changed. Did your buddy use it much? Seems like a great buy for someone.

                          Powerslot? Or 1:1?

IIRC when I ordered my '94 new I could pick 4 colors....hull color, side hull color, 2 accent colors. It appears someone picked just 3 colors leaving the side hull the same color as the rest of the hull. Pretty cool.
                          I was njskier on here.

Boat has 1:1 trans. Hour meter is original. It is clean, almost perfect. Just needs new pitot tubes and the fuel gauge needs to be replaced. Carpet needs a cleaning.

Good observation on the Gelcoat, not sure what the answer is but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

I know that the original owner ordered the boat with the DHL trailer, maybe he picked a different gel coat option?

                            Thanks
