Blows up a lot?? Personal experience?? I have just over 600 hours on my L-18 and it runs like a fine swiss watch. Maybe I got a good one. I have been very detailed on oil changes and regular maintenance. I know these engine are known for using a little oil but I've never heard they "blow up".
