    Thanks

I have a heater in my boat and it works awesome, much better then my last boat which was open cooling.
Heat continues long after on idle only, my main concern is our lake has a high sodium level which i want to keep out of my engine.
I may keep my boat much longer as I really like my set up.

LY6 does not come standard with closed cooling. LQ9 had aluminum heads and needed closed cooling. LY6 has cast iron heads so closed cooling is not a requirement. Even though it is not required, I would recommend it because without it, heaters on LY6 models do not work very well.

Its my understanding Closed Cooling was standard on LQ9, but isn't' standard on LY6. It is an option however on that and other motors. But most likely only ordered by people using boats in salt or brackish waters. I have always thought closed cooling would be great for spring and fall use in the north. Do you have a heater or shower installed with your closed cooling. If you do how well do they work?
