I’ve demo’d one and wasn’t a fan. Difficult to hold on to, and can “shoot” into the boat or into the transom, possibly causing dents/nicks to gel coat. Not for me.
We do similar to a few above, just toss it to the opposite side and let someone in the boat pull it in. Works fine, but the rope does get janky after awhile.
I like the idea of the Ronix Swivel (or any similar swivel I suppose)… I just can’t imagine how I could set it up when using intermediate loops on the rope?
My daughter and I (who surf the most on our boat), use slightly different lengths… neither of which are at the end of the rope. We just shift the loop when changing sets which the swivel would make a pain, and also wouldn’t help with line twist. So, aside from using two separate ropes, but from the very end of the line… any ideas on how one could rig the swivel to solve the issue?
I don't let anyone throw the rope back to/at my boat anymore. "Drop it on the opposite side of the wake, we will pull it in for you". Bad Throw + Bad Catch = handle hitting and possibly damaging boat or seat finish.
