  • Color Blind?

Received my new XStar S last week!

Unfortunately the color I picked isn’t the same as what they delivered. I spec’d “combat green” from the build-a-boat color pallet, but what got delivered is more forest or lime green. Pix below show the website color pallet, followed by what I got delivered. There is no fine print that states colors are reasonable facsimile or as close as possible!

When I opened a case with MC, they told me thats the color so too bad (basically) - through my dealer. As we can all attest, these boats are not cheap, and prices have essentially doubled in past 7yrs.

really, really disappointed…for this kind of $, they should be doing everything possible to make sure Im happy.

    Sorry to hear that.
Probably doesn't help, but I like the color combo the way it came out.

I don't think it looks bad either. Send us a pic of the entire boat.

Another option is asking the dealer if the will consign it for you at the same price you paid? They may have multiple people wanting one and can't get one. Then you can order another one but you'll probably be without a boat till then?

Good thing with high demand is its easy to sell.

I agree its not awful looking, but its not the color I picked - and thats an issue when I spend this much cash.

looks like a combat green to me on the outside, but the interior does look more lime-y.

I think it looks great, but you are the one that has to like it. I am sure it would be an easy boat to sell, if its not what you want. The dealer may even let you out of the deal if they can get a little more for it with the shortage of inventory.

I know this is not what you want to hear but the gel coat looks just like the press xt21 that is in the combat green. I agree that the interior does look a little bit more limey but IMO I do not think that any of the colors are accurately portrayed in the configurator. I am sorry to hear that it did not turn out exactly how you had envisioned but if it makes it any better I would never choose a boat in that color and I think it looks pretty bada** the way it turned out.

Everyone is right that I could prob sell it back on consignment That said, its not that hard to match the configurator with what you’re producing…in fact thats their exact reason for having the configurator. I’m unlikely to want to go through the hassle of selling and enduring no boat for a year. These things are crazy expensive and they shouldn’t misrepresent what the actual colors are. This was no gel coat mishap. the interior is same off tone and definitely doesnt match the configuator. I also took the pix of the boat in shade, which is being kind as in sunlight its even more stark a difference.
All this said, they need to own the mistake, and make me happy about it. Telling me “…it is what it is…” is certainly not the right approach.

This is probably a good lesson in if its a new color I need to see a pallet example before i order it. I agree with you its not the color on the website but as stated most all the colors on the website look different on the boat. I remember a few years ago where the red on the outside didn't even come close to matching the same red on the inside. Now that is not good IMO. Yours I could stomach but the red that didn't match was an absolutely no go to me,I wouldn't have taken the boat.

If you want to charge Porsche prices, dont give me Polaris customer experience. Thank goodness my dealer is exceptional.

Sorry to hear it's not what you were expecting, but I agree with others that it looks great! The renderings don't match 100%. Sometimes it can even be in your computer monitor settings depending on the brightness settings.. Most dealers have sample vinyls and gel coat chips of the actual colors so they can show you what it will look like before ordering.

Funny thing is the navy interior on the Porsche configurator looks black. Sometimes it is just very hard to make colors appear correct in an animated setting. I do get your frustration and know that when spending that much you expect to get what you want. I am sorry that your experience has not gone the way that you wish it would have but at the end of the day you still have a good looking boat!

Oooff That looks horrible. That green is not even close to what they said it was going to be. You got hosed. They owe you a new boat

Hmm. Color configurator never gives you an accurate representation of any color, but did you not see the 2022 boats on their website when They went live or did you order before then?

either way I think it is massively sick and you should keep it but I hear your frustration.

You have a beautiful boat, one that is different from most others, which is what I bet you were going for in the first place. You have two choices- expend your energy on resentment and attempts to get the dealer and/or manufacturer to 'make it right' or make friends with the boat and rejoice that you are its lucky owner.
