  • Motor Box Shock Delete ?

Thinking of eliminating the motor box shocks for ease of maintenance and keeping engine & bilge clean without constantly removing the shock clips on the motor box. Anybody do this ? and disadvantages of removing of these ? 2009 PS 190. Thank You

Most of the older boats didn't have them at all.

Not sure if my '92 had a lift, but it's gone now. Box opens against the rear seat and stays there for full access to engine and transmission.

I removed mine, just be careful to not drop the box on your toe once the shocks are removed......... Tore my big toe nail off, broke the toe and required stiches for a big gash.

Last time I replaced them I put something like this on the ends to make it easy to quickly disconnect and lift all the way back.

I got the same ones. You only need them at one end. 30 seconds to pop them off when needed.

Removed mine, on all my boats. Makes it easier, to check fluids. I'm sure they are there, for safety reasons.

I've added these as well. Super easy to pop them off if you need access to further back in the engine. The best of both worlds.
