I was wondering if the XT23 surf wave is really good? I have a 2015 X30 and my dad and I were at the Atlanta Boat Show and the salesmen were saying that the new XT23 has a really good surf wave. Is that true or not?

You're kidding right? The boat weights 5200 lbs. The ballast alone is 3300 lbs. which is about what my boat weighs. That's 8500 lbs without gas and gear. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's acceptable for all but the truly untalented to surf.
Will it be something you like? Only way to figure that out would be to surf it. Will it be better than your X30? Your X30 is 7 years old, was designed probably 10 years ago based on what they knew then. Since then surf boat design has come a long way. I would think it would be safe to assume you won't be disappointed but then again only one way to figure that out.

You will have no problem surfing with his boat. It will be night and day better then what you have currently. When I was shopping boats my dealer had a XT23 running its surf school and I had the opportunity to ride behind it. It was dialed in with maybe a little extra weight and it may surfing so easy without a rope.

The new XT23 is legit. I run mine with 400# of lead and I'd say it gives the X series a run for its money. It also throws a nice wakeboard wake for all skill levels if that's your jam. I even slalom behind it here and there...
Another added benefit of the new boats over your X30 is the features they bring. Coolfeel is awesome, Dual Screens are awesome, Surfstar is awesome, Z8 tower is awesome, etc. I come from an '06 X30 so I made a pretty significant jump, but I think you'll still find tons of improvements even though your boat is still relatively modern.

I had a '14 X30 with upgraded 800lbs rear bags, 400lbs of lead, and sometimes I would even throw an #1,100 in the middle of the floor if we wanted to have some fun. I sold it with 800+ hours on it and I have tried every different setup imaginable - it was dialed in and the wave was fantastic. The stock XT23 still beats that X30 wave; and once you start adding some lead or a heavy crew it will leave the X30 in the dust.
Love the X30, it's one of the best boats out there, but strictly from a surf wave perspective- its older design just can't compete with the new stuff coming out.The question is not whether life exists after death, but whether you were alive before death - Osho

Our dealer is a friend of mine and we’ve been out on nearly every mc boat model multiple times over the last few years on demos or shakedown cruises etc… I’ve got an xt 23 on the way since I sold my xt 21. Fantastic boat and wave. Basically very close to an xstar, x24, or xt 24 as far as overall wave size and push in my opinion. I really liked the xstar wave but I love the traditional bow. The xt 23 throws a great wave with or without extra lead, you can’t go wrong. It also recreationally waterskis better than it should!!

I should also add that I have a newer Xstar and have two friends with XT23's - I am never sad or disappointed to go surf behind their boats. I won't go as far as to say their wave is as good as mine, but they are fun to ride.-Tolman

I also run 400 pounds of lead in my Xstar. So, I guess I am not really comparing apples to apples either. The question is not whether life exists after death, but whether you were alive before death - Osho
