Is the deckadence flooring worth while ? I have the standard snap in but it tends to stay wet. Don’t love seadek as I’m pretty particular and stains/small tears would bother me. Thanks

Love decadence. I went from carpet and won’t ever go back. I have gray. 2 years no stains. Water goes right through it. Stays damp for a few minutes. Nice on your feet too. If someone brings some unauthorized red wine and spill it, you grab a bucket of water and wash it through.
easy choice for upgrade.

Does your cover snap in or lay down by itself?

I agree I like the deckadense much better. Ive had both and like it much better. Last boat had aquamarine flooring which is the same thing as the seadek and it was hard to keep clean. Also started to pull loose. Current boat has the deckadense and it’s great, only had it one season but I’m a big fan so far. I will say I did like the look of the aquamarine, it had pinstripes and the mastercraft logo so it looked really good but the deckadense is just easier and I like the way it feels on your feet.

Deckadence all the way. I installed it DIY style on my last boat. I ordered the material from deckadence directly and cut the pieces using the old snap-in carpet as a template. I also installed snaps but I don't think they're necessary. On my current boat, I ordered decadence from the factory and it lays on the floor without snaps. I've never had an issue with it moving around, even with towing on the highway with the cover off. Super easy to keep clean and stays dry. It's also a lot tougher than sea dek in my experience.-Tolman

Deckadence is AMAZING! We absolutely love it. And it's some weird voodoo/magic stuff that when you spill something it just disappears!... just don't ever ask me to lift it up and show you what's underneath. But yeah it's the best. Does not stain, does not stay wet, feels great on your feet... nothing but good here.

I've had everything in my boats. Carpet, Snap in Carpet, SeaDek, Deckadence. I now have Deckadence in all the boats and I'll never do Carpet or SeaDek again. Carpet because it stays wet too long, SeaDek looks nice when it's new, it's nightmare to replace when it starts looking worn.
Purchased all my Deckadence directly from marineflooring.net. It's easy to cut and I initially installed it without snaps. Larger sections tend to stay in place pretty well. I have added snaps in some places. Smaller sections will tend to move around some, and places where people tend to stop. Certainly, doesn't need snaps all around the perimeter like carpet, but once it's in place it's easy to figure out where a few snaps will keep it from moving.Last edited by jpwhit; 03-16-2023, 05:00 PM.-----------------------------------

deckadence was one of the the best improvements that I made to the boat. Durable, and dries really fast. For us having wet carpets on cold mornings was no fun
I bought mine from;
PS. Careful, there are other vinyl loop flooring options that are less expensive but more coarse and not as well suited for bare feet. They are more suited for fishing boats.Last edited by osmonet; 03-16-2023, 11:24 AM.

I have had all 3, carpet, decadence, seadeck. I prefer Decadence over the other 2, but there are pro's and con's to each. I have ordered Decadence (or like material) from multiple companies and done some testing on them. My thoughts are below.
Not too many reasons to go with carpet, other than maybe you could save a few hundred bucks by replacing carpet vs. the other two.
Deckadence:- doesn't stain
- it doesn't stay wet
- it looks new for years and years
- feels good on your feet, but can be a little harsh on knees and elbows if you are working on your boat or taking drain plug in/out
- It stays looking clean (on top)- liquid runs right through it; most food crumbs that you can't pick up just get smashed in and disappear. With the exception of longer hair, which tends to make it's way to the edges and stick out. I just pick it out by hand when I see it.
- It can get a little hot in direct sunlight, but cools down quick once the boat starts moving and you get some airflow
- Some companies make them in one piece for the whole boat, some make two-piece (one for cockpit, one for bow and walkthrough). I prefer the one piece, it stays in place better, I felt like I had to adjust the two pieces sometimes.
- Some companies cut out and glue different color decadence to create the logos, some companies dye the decadence for the logo. I prefer the dye. I have never had a problem with the dye and have done some testing with chemicals on it, it holds up well. With the cut logo, you can feel the glue area and its not always great on your feet.
- Some cheap knock-off's are available, but some use materials that breakdown and cause an odor when they get wet - so beware
- I basically cleaned the decadence once a season (I live in the north, so it's only about a 4 month season) - the underside gets nasty, so before winter storage I would take it out of the boat, pressure wash it, use dilute bleach solution, then let it dry. I don't think I did much during the season other than pick out the hair and larger crumbs.
Seadeck:- Doesn't stay wet
- Feels good on your feet, knees, elbows, etc.
- Doesn't get as hot in the sun
- Looks dirty ALL THE TIME - places in between the seadeck collect debris. I swear I am constantly vacuuming and it still looks dirty.
- stains
- it gets wear marks from stuff sliding on it
- I use dilute dish soap and mild pressure washer to clean, multiple times a year, and it looks good for a day or two.
- I doubt it will last 5 years without looking pretty bad.

I have had all.
Carpet is terrible and no one ever orders this anymore.
Seadek looks amazing and doesn't get super hot.
Decadence is my personal favorite but doesn't look as good even with the model in the middle of the floor. Going off of Maniac said, it does tend to get pretty hot if you are not moving.
I wish MasterCraft sold more boats with decadence but I see why people like the look of seadek better.
