The next time anyone is out by their trailer could you snap a few pictures of the bunks - specifically the spacers under the bunks. Mine has spacers on one side but not on the other, but it's also missing the nuts on some of the bunks so I'm guessing they floated up and the spacers were lost - but curious to see how everyone else's is set up.

Has anyone added a second bilge pump behind the engine in their X14 DD? I don't take on any water in the bilge on a normal day, but I have dipped the bow 2 times since I have owned the boat, 3 years (sigh). I am thinking of putting another in the back and borrowing one of the ballast thru holes (I don't use the ballasts).2008 X14

Hey bro - I think that is due to the fiberglass cross members I usually sop it up with a towel in the middle but the corners.always get soaked and the carpet along the stringer .... I wish it drained better to the center bilge and ran forward better to the low point instead of a rear bilge pump .... just my $2.02If its not a competition ski boat, its always second best.

Funny this conversation came up - we spend the last 10 days in the 214 and 93Prostar190 is spot on - the water pools in the ski locker deeper than in the bilge and was never deep enough for the pump to pick anything up, while my skis and fenders were sopping wet. I was thinking about adding another / or moving the bilge pump to the compartment between the engine and the ski locker so I can get the water out before it gets too deep.
On a related note... we got caught out in some pretty severe weather on Dale Hollow, with some serious waves caused by winds. It was the most concerning time of my almost 50-years of boating. I made sure not to stop but continued at a lower speed with the bow in the air, but I think that resulted in taking on some water from the rear vents.
Between that experience and wet people constantly in and out of the boat, the carpet under the lounge and under the back seats was constantly wet and had water pooling all week. I kinda forgot about that from my previous X14. Sucks as I had to pull all of the equipment out nightly so it could dry out. Anyone experience the same thing, and if so, any tips?
