    That is disappointing to hear.

    Yours!

Kidding. I haven't decided. I'm not travelling up to NH as much, may buy a prostar just to use locally. Maybe used, maybe new, not deciding right now.

If a beginner complains about the 214 wake, then any wake at those speeds are an issue.

to be clear it is bigger, but a newbie slalomer at 28 mph is working on things and most boats at 28 mph will have a wake of some type right?

Agreed and thanks - earlier posters are also suggesting that your boat (214/x14 DD) should be the choice if skiing is favored.

I'm going to take my time and watch out for an X14DD in driveable distance. If I can score a chance to ski behind a X14V in 2021 (there is one on a neighboring lake) I can evaluate the tradeoff, keeping my skiers in mind. Thanks all for the comments, they've been very informative !

I agree with with the wake size , my 2010 x-14v has a larger wake than my 205 , but that should be expected , I will say if your trying to run the course with the 14v , there is a good bump and valley in the wake , but for recreation sling it’s a great option

Not sure my interest because I love carpet, but damn that looks nice in there. So 50/50 on it.
Yes, I’m making the same assumption. The carpet on topside is still in really good shape on our boat, it’s just the backing on the back that is falling off, so it’s inevitable something will have to be done...

Orthodek is made by Vepo in Painesville. Same stuff that my trailer step pads were made from.

They have the template on file (was based on ‘07), but they send a dry kit first, to make sure template matches where hatches are, etc. then once confirmed, they will make and ship out. Was about $1100, not including swim platform (approx $300 more), but would consider a group buy discount. They will send you out a sample kit for different color choices as well.
Not sure I’m going to pull the trigger or not, but wanted to share with the group and gauge interest on possible group discount.

Thanks for checking in to that. I'm definitely interested. Was planning on doing something with mine this offseason and the fact that they did the template sounds like this should fit well.
