  • The last new 214v sold in the US

As many of you know, the Ramermans lost our 2010 x14v. Be were able to buy the very last new 214v (2014) and took delivery this afternoon. I am so impressed with this boat--the only thing it has in common with the 2010 is the hull; otherwise, this boat is all new.

Power, fit / finish and ski are at least 2x the prior boat. I am in love all over again.

    • Congrats Matt, again. How is the skiing improved? I understand the power/ fit/ finish/ electronics. The skiing comment has me puzzled.
      Prior boats - (3) X14's, (3) Prostars, and a Tristar.

I ski 35 off / 34 to stay ahead of the shelf and rooster tail. My old boat had a definitive trough--this boat seems to have a very minor one; certainly less than the last.

It is way more powerful out of the hole. Rips me out like my old LT-1 used to. LOVE it.

My wife skis 15 off / 31 and feels the shelf wake is much softer than before.

Why? I have no idea. I was warned the shift in tower / center of gravity and the incremental wake was going to change things negatively; which is proving to be not true.

              • Amazing looking boat. Please post more pics when you can. I wish we had picked up a X14V when we had the chance, but we never pulled the trigger. We are currently looking at new X30's.

Thanks again everyone for all the support! As we were floating yesterday after our first official ski behind the boat we were reflecting on this whole ordeal and realized we are just a few days under a month from our accident. To be back in a boat (new, none the less) and skiing again (new ski, woo hoo) and seeing our kids smiles feels like a VERY big blessing in so many ways. I even want to give a shout out to our Boat Insurance company, Progressive, as they were awesome through this whole ordeal. Took care of us incredibly well at every turn.

We love being a part of the MC family and the community of other owners.

Thank you buddy, I will kep that in mind. We are seriously looking at X30's. My wife wants a bigger boat for better rough water ride. I am having a hard time letting it go. We just got back from a week on Lake Austin skiing and the ski wake was fantastic. The X30 will be like skiing behind a tug boat.

                        • X14 Dd

                          Fellas,

Long time reader, first time poster here. This is a great site with a lot of useful information.

I'm looking to buy an X14 DD, I've been wanting one of these for the past 5 years. Finally I have the money and time to use one.

I've probably read every thread about the X14 on this website, but I do have a couple questions.

Are there any problems to look for in specific model years?

Are there any model years or engines to stay away from?

I really like the ZFT4 tower but I believe these are only available on 2012s, correct?

                          Thanks for the responses guys!

I'm not really looking to buy until the spring, but would buy earlier if the right X14DD was available. Shoot me a P.M. or an email at [email protected] if you have one you want to sell. I'm in the Midwest, so I guess that would work best for buying/selling your boat.

                          Thanks, Andy

                            Andy

Welcome to Team Talk. Having just come off the buy circuit I know there are a few x14 DD available. Check out boat trader, inboards only and iBoat for complete listings. I will feed you any I see directly.

The x14 has come with three different engines depending on age. I am only familiar with the indmar MCX and the current ilmor 5.7. Both extensively used by MC across models. Both very good engines (I have owned both) The third, is a motor I am not familiar (others would need to comment)--- I have only seen that in older boats
                            circa 2008.

The only other major variable is vinyl. MC has continued to improve year over year. Otherwise the boat has been pretty consistent since inception. I am a huge fan of its versatility and ski.

                                Hi Andy
I'm pretty sure that's right. The zft4 wasn't available until some time in the 2012 model year... And they stopped making the 14dd in 2011 so you're out of luck on that tower option.
