I agree the x14v rear seats look like an early 90s Bayliner, but my family has found those to be the best seats in the house. And they sort of extend the size/layout of the cockpit area compared to other 21 foot v drives.

X14 doesn’t surf well, haven’t tried a x14v for comparison.
I think the 14v is one of the worst Vdrive layouts and reminds me of an IO layout with the small useless seats on either side of the motor box.

I prefer the DD seating arrangement as everyone is spread out a bit more. And of course the ski wake. The V-drive will have a better surf wave, I'd think, and not quite as good a ski wake. But I know a lot of people hate the hump in the middle.

..., debating on 14v of DD. Can anyone comment on the comparison on performance and wakes (ski, wake surf) on the two models.
I love the DD's rear seating but the V's seating is intriguing as well
Thanks

Looks like a nice piece of gear and I like that you can visually inspect it.

Pic should be pretty clear on how it’s installed but let me know if any other questions.

I use an Indmar strainer on the fresh water intake . Easy to clean and has a garden hose adapter built into it.

Good thought. We have the ballast valves off and have not used the tanks. Maybe where the exhaust goes thru the hull?

Since it’s lake temp, wouldn’t think it’s coming from the exhaust right. That water would have been heated up. Now recalling that you recently redid your rudder port, if you checked that again to make sure it’s not leaking again?

Never had a problem under the lounge seat. Only thought could be through the rub rail or a cracked ballast tank on that side?
