Only way to go on a smaller MC. I've blown about 12K miles on mine in the past few years at fairly high speed.

Question for the X14 owners regarding the ski pylon. Do both the X14 and X14V have a ski pylon in the center of the boat? Is it removable in both models? This is the same hull as the Prostar 214, right? So should have comparable ski wakes to the Prostar?

X14v has removable ski pylon in center of boat. There's also a removable mini-pylon at the rear of the boat. Don't know about the DD..

Hull is same as PS 214, yes.
Without tower, PS 214 might have slightly smaller wake due to weight, but of course there are other weight factors to consider.

Pylon in X14 is mounted at engine cover base like most all DD's. Frankly I don't know if it is removable or not in the DD.

X14v has two pylons. The forward one is in the center of the boat in the same place as the DD. It is easily removable. The second is in the stern at the top edge of the transom. It too is removable. Great storage for both in the ample ski locker.

The wake shape is very similar and predictable to other Prostar boats... 197 etc.

                          09 X14

Made the switch from Maristar 245 to the x14 and love it. Miss the space but enjoy the sports car like handling.

14DD pylon is not removable. (Unless you were to unbolt it like any other DD)

that blue metal flake is MC's best color I think, at least for a couple of models -- X 14's included.
