    • Registration numbers

Bad thing about buying an out of state boat.... peeling registration numbers. Hopefully a LONG time before I do that again....

When boat turns on, the analog needle does go back and forth, then slowly moves all the way to full. The vDig reads 98%. Best guess, fuel sender has gone bad? Anything I can check myself before I take it to dealership. It’s not a pressing issue, as it’s easy enough to just lift back seat up to gauge level, just OCD kicking in...
The sender is pretty cheap (around 50 bucks iirc) and really easy to replace. There are tutorials on how to change them and repair them on here. Repairing looked like too much trouble. The design seems a bit weak--it looks like they laminated it with a food saver bag lol. When I replaced mine, the lamination had cracked at the seams and gas had leaked into it so it was corroding inside. Seriously, 5 minute swap and just as easy as the water pump impeller!
boats rock, but don't rock the boat

Not sure how similar my ‘14 is to the OP’s ‘08, but here is a thread I wrote on replacement. Hopefully it is helpful

            • Yikes that is a LOW price …… (I am a 214 owner, so I don't like seeing the price that low) but that is a great price on one of the best boat designs MC has ever released.

That boat was for sale a while ago. I'm pretty sure its not as clean as it looks.
If its not a competition ski boat, its always second best.

Even if it is clean, unless it is well equipped with an upgraded motor, powerslot, and a few more select options, I don't think the price is a steal. These X14's are in the high 30's now, well equipped, in my opinion. Maybe low 40's for a pristine one with the right powerplant.

                    • Agree but it still hurts to hear ... mine is pretty good shape and I would never get what I want since I can not afford to buy anything that is close from the current lineup to match performance. I think I am a 214 for life.

FWIW, I'm not sure I am glad I sold my X14 for an XT22. Let me know if you want to "upgrade". If I found any of my old X14's for sale, I'd buy one back. I'm almost ready to trade KRW straight up.

When I was thinking of selling my 40th 2 summers ago, I held out for a "top dollar" offer, because I wasn't really ready to sell. The best I could get for an offer was $5K less than my big number. and was a very fair offer. There's still a market for the X14, but the buyers are not paying top dollar.

I keep forgetting that you have owned 14 MasterCrafts in the past 10 years.
