    • Ditto. Traded my 08 X14 DD on a V last year. The wake is just a nice at 15 off as the DD, plus more room and better wakeboard and surf wakes!

      • Do any of you x14v owners have a bow filler cushion? Factory-made or aftermarket? Approx. cost? I'm contemplating for upcoming summer.

REALLY? Wow. Does your V have the wake plate? And how about 23 off? What speeds? Thanks...

I've got the wakeplate on mine and would agree with teamcanada at 15 off. Just seems to settle everything down a little bit. Have not skied at 23 off, sorry.

That's amazing. Congrats to MC for designing such a killer cross over boat. I love my X-14DD and put a wake plate on this winter (just to see if it would help the wakes especially when the fuel tank is full and to flatten the wakeboard wakes for beginners).

I prefer to ski at 15 but seems like our best wake is 23 -- but I have not tried the DD with the plate yet.

              • Yes it has the wakeplate but I am still learning how it helps. 32-34mph is great. I think 23 off would be better.

                • BigBadBlue - Still waiting on pics of your new x14v. Have you gotten that out on the water yet?

                  • No pics yet but I have 45 hours on it ... See my thread on a busted up prop ... Not good

Question - those that have adjustment plates ... What have you found to be best settings. For skiing at 32-34 I like 34 degrees as I think it makes the best wake. Does anyone use it for surfing?

Love to hear what others say... I have been skiing 15 off, 32 - 24 mph at 60'. I am going to try 34' next time out. I have definitely not found optimal angle. I can say for certain, it makes a huge difference. I know first crossing whether the wake plate is down or not.

                      • Was wondering what other x14v owners were running for a prop (size, etc.)? What elevation you run at? And for what purposes (boarding, skiing, bf, etc.)?

                        • Merry New Year

Happy New Year to all of my fellow PS 214, X14 and X14v enthusiasts and owners! Hope your New Year is complete with many glass-filled days and perfect wakes (of whatever shape).

Had to include a shot from our last trip to Banks Lake---dreaming about our return this coming June.

                            • Anyone ever footed behind the X14v? How does it compare to the X9 (PS 209)?

                              • I haven't pulled any footers with the 14V but I have pulled A LOT with the 14 DD. The DD foots much better than a 209 and it's better than a 197 too (according to footers that are good and that I trust) Dan that used to work for us was a big time footer and won a barefoot race with a 6.0 powered 14 DD. Because the two boats are built on the same running surface I would think they would be pretty similar, the ski wakes are at least.
