  • 2007 CSX 220 w Captains choice crusader 6.0 (lq9) 375 hp opinions

I've been searching for a CSX for sometime and finally found a reasonable deal (under 50k). However I wanted the mcx 350hp, but this one has the crusader 6.0 which I know very little abt. I understand it's a PCM engine and even saw it was a Chrysler block on another thread. Any info/opinions on this engine or boat? The good/bad/ugly please as I really want to keep this boat a while and need to make the right choice. Any comparison between the crusader versus indmar mcx or ly6 (fuel, power, dependability, etc). Also any differences/benefits in the CSX over the years. Thanks in advance.

I know little about the CSX, but I know MasterCraft dropped PCM in 89... if that CSX has a PCM, it is not factory. Either someone blew the Indmar that was in it, or wanted a 6.0 so ordered a PCM and installed it.

Mastercraft used the Crusader's in their salt water series boats for a few years (2005, 2006, & 2007??) I have the 5.7L Crusader in my 2006 and really like the closed cooling setup. My local dealer has virtually no knowledge of this power plant and don't stock impellers or belts, but they are easy to order online.

        CSX-<Man

        Hello-

I know plenty on the CSX220 as I have three of them for my waterski school.
2007 you could get the crusader as an option for salt, not a bad engine, but I prefer the Indmar if I have a choice. I put over 2000 hours on one of my boats with a Crusader we rotated out last year in salt water.
I have the MCX 350 in two of my CSX220's and My 2009 CSX220ss I have the LY6, which scream's ( great for footing ) but a pain to work on, (packed in)

The 6.0 crusader is good, and easy to work on i.e.: maint..

Let me know if you have any question's. send me some pics, and or call.

I'm running the 6.0L Crusader and it's been a fantastic engine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a boat with a Crusader
