Here's my 6 year old (started at 4) and 10 year old (started at 6), both can ride a wakeboard too. She can do a 180 switch and he's working on his grabs. It sooo fun watching them progress!! This years drought has been wonderful for skiing! My son also cruised around on a slalom Trick Ski Saturday...OK enough from proud papa.

          Thanks for the tips Tom..

what I learned with all 5 of those kids I got up a few weeks ago on the ski skimmer is to:
*start out slow, slow, slow. Less than 5 mph got most of those kids up.

                        * before we learned how to use it, we were telling the kids to keep their knees bent until they were on plane...... wrong! tried it, didn't work and there was so much water coming into their face from the middle they could do nothing but let go....so we learned as soon as they felt the pull, hold onto the handle and straighten their legs....and they're up. You may also need to adjust the handle rope pretty short to begin with (another problem we learned about)

                        * if they are still standing on the board when they want to stop, stop slowly..... threw them OVER the front of the board a few times

I think them PS 190's have brakes!
there were times when I slowed down slowly.....the kid would still be floating for at least a minute after the boat was completely stopped....that was cool.....they could scream and hollar "I'm sinking"....guess you had to be there

take plenty of pictures if possible....that motivates them to go the next weekend after they see the slide show and e-mail their teachers and friends.

Each time I see you guys post your kid's pictures, I bring my kids to come look....they always enjoy them.

                        * the 7 year old dare-devil Emergency Room son of mine got up to 25 mph the last time we were out, but there was so much boat & PWC traffic we could only make short laps....but it was fun!

                        pic coming soon

                                Betsy,
You can get sun block at the store it don't cost that much.
You don't need to use mud on your kids.
Working is for people who don't know how to ski
