You could likely get someone to recover that seat with the tear for about 100-150.

I'd try to get the boat OTD @ between $7500-$8000. Use the tear as leverage. Bring cash and stick to your guns. Do not bring $8500. They will not (in most cases) let you leave over $500-$1000 if you show him a stack of hundreds.

Good negotiating tactic. I have been known to keep my best price stack of cash in one pocket, and the extra I would be willing to pay in another. Fanning the Franklins on the deck of a boat speaks loudly.

Well, that doesn't always work. I had a guy drive 150 miles from Mobile to buy my car a few years ago and he showed up with a stack of $100s, but was $500 short. I told him he could leave a deposit, go back to Alabammy, and come back with the balance later. He decided to go find an ATM to get the rest of the money. I knew that if he drove 150 miles to buy the car, he wanted it and was probably willing to pay the asking price.

I had similar selling a Quad. We both wouldn't budge over $50 difference on a $1800 deal. He left without buying. 10 minutes later he called back and said OK and bought it. Love the games...
