2005 X2 Tps

I have a 2005 X2 and the TPS sensor has gone out. I have contacted 2 different MC Dealers and have been told that the TPS sensor and/or the throttle control assembly MC part# 450119 are no longer available. Is there a replacement part or a retrofit design available? I have basically been told good luck with my problem and that no MC dealer will be able to help me because the part has been discontinued. This is extremely frustrating because the boat has only 500 hours and I’m being told there is no fix. Do I just abandon the boat?

I think a saw somewhere there is a replacement. Try a search something should pop up.

I have been searching. I tried the BEI sensor replacement (which are very hard to find) and still have the same issue. I found the first BEI sensor in ebay so figured I would buy another from Mouser (found on a post) when I called them today the part is on back order until April.
I cant find a complete assembly (Teleflex CH2200E) either...

Can someone post a picture of the sensor? Wonder it an automotive would be the same. Or are we talking the sensor on the shifter?

There is not a lot MC can do if the part was discontinued by the manufacture. Remember the engine is not made by MC so and boat with an Indmar would have this same problem. I would try to contact Indmar.

Did you try Rambo Marine? Action Water Sports as for Bruce, bakes have the throttle part http://www.bakesonline.com/detail.aspx?ID=2337 but I could be wrong.

That's 2 parts causing problems now --- grrr -

electronics humidity, water, grime - not good -

but I would go the route of rebuilding the controller not replacing the whole thing if possible like the fuel pump 101 thread.

Not saying you're wrong, but if that's the response he's getting on a less than 10 year old boat, were I him, I'd be shopping around for a brand that had used the same marinization for some time once I sold my nonworking boat for parts.

I realize MC switched engine manufacturers, but if they want to keep loyal customers past about 3 years, they need to provide sufficient support for their somewhat recent power plants. I feel confident that they will. So please don't consider this a bash. Rather, consider me a voice that says he is confident MC will do the right thing.
