Those of you who bought a PS with the tower option, did you also buy slalom racks? Were they OE?

I got slalom racks on mine... Mine's an '04 tower, Are they the same??
If so, the slalom rack is an option and it is a MC item.

I think they are $165 from the dealer. I am looking at adding them to one side of my '05 tower.

The racks changed from '03 to '04/'05. I have been told that the slalom racks (miniature versions of my '03 wakeboard racks) were never offered even though they showed up in brochures. Just wondering if someone who purchased a '03 ProStar with the tower was able to get one.

I thought I remember hearing that the 03 slalom racks were only in pictures and never sold. I think it was MYMC that said it on one of these sites, but I can't find it.

I was under the impression that the '04-'05 ski racks would bolt right on to the '03 towers. I could be wrong.

I'll need a pic to be sure but I think barney is seeing that the 03 tower has a horizontal bar in the area where the 04 has an elliptical shaped plate with "X7" engravings?? This would definitely mean that the slalom rack would be different for each of those models if true.

ya the diamond shaped plate that the rack mounts to is different for 05 but the rack looks the same as the one on my 04 tower
I still cannot be confident that we are helping barney unless we look at an 03 tower

I was under the impression that the '04-'05 ski racks would bolt right on to the '03 towers. I could be wrong.

The racks fit '03 to '06. The 03' sucked, they were a slide clamping rack. The '04's and later are a scissor type and work great! If you bolt the racks directly to the tower, they are for wakeboards, they clamp between the boots. If you mount them on the Slalom extention brackets, they clamp in front of and behind the boots. I have slalom extenders on both sides and use them for both boards and skis. The full size tower for the ProStar 190/197/ X-7 or the ProStar 209 / X-9 have the new swivel mounts on the '05 & '06 and the tower tubing and feet are much more heavy duty. I'm not a wakeboarder and much prefer the mini towers looks and lines.

I took a long look at cutting out the aluminum to make them fit as is, but it was just too much cutting and too great a risk to mucking things up.
