many of the x-star graphic files are not available.

I asked for them from MC and the company that designed them no longer had them nor were they on file at MC.

you may want to try gmediawraps.com https://www.facebook.com/GMediaWraps?ref=br_tf

    for design.

Plan B could be to just put the MASTERCRAFT letters on the side. I think that is a good clean look.

      Nice looking X btw.

Thanks... I attempted to go naked... But my Gel metal flake due to age .. still shows the perfect outline of graphic. So its either put back on or wrap it... or do a giant oval w that MC logo over top.

Next time no dark garage late night working on boat.. couldn't see shadowing till pulled out in sun.

Since its metal flake.. wet sanding is not much of a option.

Mikeg do you have a part number for that?

The last thought.. get someone to take a high res pic of yours and email to me. A buddy can then turn it into Vinyl

I don't have the part number or a hi res picture. getting an exact match will be tough - but who ever draws it should be local to get some measurements of the ghosting.

I got my buddy cutting some silver metallic vinyl today of the new X Star logo to put on it just placing it like the new one's. Half between the bow and cockpit just to see if it pulls your eye away from shadow. I am very OCD about my stuff.. though at 10 feet its hard to notice. .. its just that I know it so it keeps me up at night. Ha

I really suggest some 3M Primer 94 - or at minimum edge edge sealer on the leading edge - the oxidized gel will allow moisture under the vinyl and it won't stick well for the long term.

A light wet sand with 1000-1500 grit won't work and that gel?

My neighbor did... say Hey man that's cool how that graphic is in the paint... Like how Bikers do the Skulls etc that you can only see at a certain glance.

I thought ummm... Maybe I will use that...

As for Light Wet Sand... these pics are after doing just that, I didn't want to get to crazy since I am now in season. Possible in the Winter I will get more into Blending the Gel or possible Having it Re applied possible..

I first used 3M Heavy Ox... which greatly improved it... but then I moved to Wet sand which took it again to these pics.

I had same "graphic" shadow on my 05 XStar when I bought it. Wore my elbow out using Meguiars heavy Ox, then mild Ox, polish, and finally wax the first couple weekends I owned boat, but shadow is totally gone. No idea if flake is different than my non-flake gel, but I'd really rub her down good before you throw in the towel. I felt the same way, but nothing a lot of elbow grease couldn't work out.

Which reminds me that it's time for my annual gelcoat massage.... Glad I bought a buffer this spring! Time for some Wax on/wax off fun!

Trust me... I have 3 hours in on each side, Using once again Heavy Ox to Wet Sanding. I will admit its much improved, so maybe some general sun baking and use along with more buffing will improve it.

Assumed you had but figured I'd add my $.02 anyways. Could be the difference between flake and non-flake or the fact graphics were on my white gelcoat - I don't know. Best of luck.
