If I was you I'd do everything I could to get a hold of whoever bought that wrecked 08 x1 posted in the ebay thread and see if they'll sell the engine and transmission.

I think they'll let the RTP and trany go for $8k

Unless you can find a wrecked X2 or similar for cheap, can't see this being a worthwhile project. You got close to $15k + labor just in the interior, tower and drivetrain. Prop, shaft , wiring, dash, stereo, racks, tower speakers, PP, batteries, trailer, cover, etc, etc.
$525 is a smokin deal on a new hull, but IMO the boat will never be worth much because it's been pieced together.

If pieced together well, with MC parts, not sure the concern. Also, some people don't overly concern themselves with "what it's worth". If the poster can rebuild it for $20k, or $15k, or $25k - doesn't he have a nice boat for himself? I didn't get the sense he was doing it to flip it, if he is then you may be right, but if he is doing it to have a nice boat, cheaper than the market drives prices he probably will have it when done.
