With my boat at WOT, I've seen 42-43mph and have pulled one 200lbs+ barefooter and was able to maintain 40 mph. I think that with a different prop it might do a little better. The 6.2 L is a rocket out of the hole compared to the 5.7, but I've only driven it for slalom and can't comment on top end.
For comparison, the 2015 promo near me has the 5.7L (1.26:1) and the new prop feels a lot stronger out of the hole than my boat.
i was behind one of the protype boats in late 2013 with the 6.2L ... pulled me and my petite friend mid 40s with still more more throttle available ... sweet setup

With just slalom on your radar just do it already Mitch. I'll be coming north for an early season run if you do. I missed the show with this weather this year.

Wake looks super thanks for all the replies! Was told the wake is super soft even at lower speeds. Is that true? Sounded like it was still stellar at 28ish, wife would like to get below 30, but skies @ 32 to get a flatter wake in the 205
From what I'm hearing I think your Mrs. will love the wake on the new PS. It's amazing how the new boats are getting bigger but the wakes are better throughout the speed range. I haven't seen the bottom of the new PS but when the CC 200 came out in 2010 the bottom of that hull looked like a science project.

Have skied behind the '14 Nautique, Malibu, and MC. Honestly feel that the PS is in a completely different league than it's competitors. A friend and I have free skied together (350-400 lbs. total) and there was certainly power left to give in getting out of the hole.

I would also agree that 41-42 is a consistent top end speed.

Here are a couple shots from demos last year. I believe these were at 32 mph but don't quote me on that as I was not driving. 3 people in the boat for both wake pics though.

Here's the 34 MPH wake of my 2014 prostar. I feel it skis the same as the 2015. There was a change from the 1.22:1 tranny on the '14 to a 1.26:1 for '15. There is also a prop change as well.
Hi JMN - I know you ordered the 6.2L. Can you comment on top speeds you see with this powertrain? Have you pulled an footers on long line or boom?

I'll second that . The 197 is a very nice boat but I don't think it holds a candle to the new Prostar . I am surprised the almost new 197's didn't take a nose dive in value
